Donald Trump and His Next Move on Social Media

This weeks article looks at the next possible step in Donald Trump's attempt for reelection in 2024 if that is indeed still his plan. Trump has been in talks with many different apps in hopes for their help to create an all new social media platform. Trump wants this to be his social media platform where he will undoubtedly post and say whatever he wants on it. According to the article, an app titled FreeSpace is Trumps front runner at the moment. 

I understand that Trump feels he was cheated in the election and then kicked off of social media, but this is only going to make matters worse. Yes, Trump has a committed fan base and they will follow him to any social media app he uses, even his own created social media app but is this a good or bad thing? In my opinion, it is a bad thing as I feel that it will create a greater divide on who uses what social media apps for their news. The creation of a new social media app just for Trump supporters is going to cause another Parler situation as the radicals will always use these smaller social media apps to get their messages across.

Social Media and Vaccination Cards

This weeks article looks into a recent issue that has popped up on social media sites, which is the premature posting of ones Covid-19 vaccination cards. The reason that this issue is such a big deal is because it can make individuals more susceptible to identification fraud since the vaccination cards themselves contain the individuals name, date of birth, as well as the individuals immunization chart. Of course citizens receiving their vaccinations should be excited and happy that this is our first true step towards being back at regular life, however it is never a good idea to post ones personal info on the internet (especially social media) where millions of potential individuals can see your personal information.  Hopefully no one reading this post has committed this dangerous act and I encourage anyone who has received their vaccination cards to keep it private!   Covid-19 has made a great impact not only in the United States but around the world. It has been over a year now since the pandemic began and we were all locked in our houses 7 days out of the week.
